Composition is a unifying aspect in all of my work. Through a camera lens I explore the perfect art found in nature, specifically along the northwest lower Michigan shore. The lines and light create endless opportunities to capture a moment or structure that engages my eye. Walking the dunes I am always moved by the knowledge that water, wind, sand and vegetation are mighty elements that take no notice of the living things that come to the shore for physical and spiritual sustenance. In the bones and bodies of the wildlife that have found their final resting place in the sand, I find beauty. I hope to honor the existence of all living things, however fleeting, by preserving the moment when I am granted a brief encounter with them along the way.
